The U.S. Coast Guard returned 28 Cuban migrants to Cuba Friday, after intercepting two rustic boats headed for Florida earlier in the week. On Tuesday, a Coast Guard aircraft spotted a boat carrying seven migrants near Elboy Cay, Bahamas. Coast Guard Cutter Nantucket picked up the boat’s occupants. On Wednesday, a boat carrying 23 Cuban migrants was spotted about 11 miles south of Boca Chica. The occupants were also taken aboard the Nantucket. All but two of the migrants were sent to Bahia de Cabanas, Cuba on Friday. The two remaining migrants, from Tuesday’s encounter, are awaiting disposition on another Coast Guard vessel.
