A second ship possibly carrying spiders among its cargo, the M/V Stx Alpha, departed from the same South Korean port as the M/V Altavia, and was en route Guam, but has been diverted to Busan Port for fumigation to ensure that no spiders are on board the vessel. The estimated time of arrival for the vessel is Friday morning, July 23rd. Upon arrival, the cargo will be inspected by Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Agriculture at anchorage before being allowed to tie up to the pier.

“We are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our facility, our hard working employees and the community of Guam,” said General Manager Rick J. Agustin. “I want to thank our stevedores for their quick response last week and being cognizant of their duties,” he added.
