Computer based training for precision marksmanship with the M14T and M240B. If I had access, when I wasn’t in the air practicing or shooting out outboards on a case I’d be in the room with this thing.

Scalable Display Technologies announced that it has completed the installation of the EasyBlend software for the U.S. Coast Guard to be used in the latter’s aircrew weapons training simulator. The CGAWT (Coast Guard Aircrew Weapons Trainer) project was led by Pathfinder Systems.

Pathfinder Systems selected the EasyBlend software to measure the geometry and color of JVC’s seven full HD projectors. The CGAWT can be modified easily to accommodate MH-60J and MH-60C types of aircrafts. The CGAWT device has been installed at the Coast Guard Aviation Training Center in Mobile, Alabama, where it will be used to train aerial gunnery.

Further improvements of CGAWT, installed in April 2010, include the addition of three shoulder fired weapons, upgrade to 12 projectors (from the initial 7) and the addition of laser designator and illuminator to all weapons. This improvement activity is currently underway. CGAWT is capable of displaying NVG night scenes by directly stimulating the aircrew’s night vision glasses with the projected NVG scene.
