**UPDATE**

PORT CANAVERAL —

The U.S. Coast Guard says it will be another 24 to 48 hours before they release any more information about a disabled vessel floating miles off the coast of Brevard County.

The Coast Guard said the boat has been disabled for three days and has been drifting in the water.

The boat is about 24 feet long with 17 to 18 people onboard.

Officials said at 10 p.m. Wednesday they received a 911 call saying the boat was stranded.

hey are not confirming if this boat has refugees on board. However, they said it is very suspicious to have so many people on a small boat.

There is one person that needs slight medical help due to stress from being in the elements, but no serious injuries were reported.

When the news of this story breaks, I will update it.

PORT CANAVERAL — The U.S. Coast Guard said it is escorting a suspicious boat into Port Canaveral Thursday.

Officials said there were 17 to 18 people on the 24-foot vessel. One of the passengers may be injured or ill and may need to be airlifted.

The Coast Guard said it got a call Wednesday night about the vessel possibly being low on fuel.
